Just a story for today...
Early one summer morning, a little girl went to the Eiffel Tower with a piece of cake. Little did she know that the Eiffel Tower was no made of wrought iron, as so many people suspected, but was actually a friendly (if weirdly shaped) alien creature who liked children and loved cake. And so, the little girl and the Eiffel Tower spent all summer long enjoying the warm mornings but most of all enjoying cake. Then, as these things happen, the little girl grew up and had to move away – and the Eiffel Tower had no more cake. How sad the Tower felt! It felt so sad, in fact, that it began to droop, which confused everyone because they had no idea how iron could droop! The Eiffel Tower grew sadder and sadder and drooped and drooped, leaving everyone confused. In a far away land, the little girl grew up into a young lady – but she never heard about the drooping Eiffel Tower because nobody talked about the Eiffel Tower where she lived… in truth, most people thought the story of the drooping Tower must be some kind of joke or swindle. Then, the young lady saw a picture of the Eiffel Tower and she saw how sad it looked, how droopy and sad. She decided then that she knew just what the Eiffel Tower needed – cake, of course. So, she brought it a big piece of cake and promised never to leave it again. They’d talk through Facebook or something! And she signed it up for the “Cake of the Month” Club. And the Tower was happy and well fed on cake and never, ever drooped again. The end.
