If you've got a Windows Phone and a Mac (hello all 3 of you!), and you've been having troubles lately, I think I figured out why.
About two weeks ago, I found my Windows Phone Connector freezing up, failing syncing, and other issues. Uninstalling and reinstalling failed to do the trick, so I did a little A/B testing with the preferences and found a weak point.
First up, if you're having issues, you have to uninstall. However, you have to thoroughly uninstall, preferences and all, which means you'll need Appcleaner, a free app that kills off all related files when you uninstall. Drag the WPC app into Appcleaner, and it'll look like this:

Reinstall, and it should work okay. But it's important you don't click something in settings. Leave "Sync music information from the Zune service" turned OFF, and you shouldn't have any other problems.
[image error]The downside here is that the Zune information made the Music and Videos app a lot more colourful, filling up backgrounds with band photos, links, and other fun stuff. But, hey, a spartan look beats total crashing any day.
