Surprise Viewing!
First, aren't these gorgeous??? They are as bright and colorful in person as they look on site! I love them!
And this was what I found on my ceiling, and then a few minutes after I took pictures of him, he fell off the ceiling! And nearly landed on me! I told you I live in a jungle inside my home!
And then...
I heard an awful bang, still not sure what it was, but thought the wind had really gusted high and had messed up something. So I looked through the blinds to see if the wind was really kicking up a storm, and here is what I saw!
I had to peek through the blinds, afraid I'd scare him off. But also, I was taking pictures of him through a window, screen, with the sunlight glare behind the bird so I wasn't sure if the picture would turn out at all. The funny thing was, he saw me, or the camera, I should say, and kept getting nearer and nearer the window, curious as to what I...or the camera...was. :)
And so I had a really close up view of him, but because of the window, screen, and glare, it wasn't all that great. I had to tone down the brightness to make the red feathers pop, which with the naked eye, they really did. He was a brilliant red. :)
SAVAGE HUNGER is being featured at Discover a New Love, which means writing two more blogs and an interview, and somehow I signed up for two more blogs and have two more interviews to write. Soooo, why am I birdwatching?
Really, I wasn't! I was checking to see what the wind was doing outside the house!
In the Amazon, they have colorful parrots and in Belize, the same and their country's bird is the toucan with its colorful bill. But we have the cardinal! Which is just as brightly colored!
Ever get distracted for one reason or another, and are pleasantly surprised? Or...not so pleasantly surprised?
