Interview on Leggendariamente

August 10, 2012

- Hello Chiara! Welcome to my blog! I'm really glad you have granted me this little interview :) Wanna tell us something about you? You are so young... How and when was born your passion for writing?
Hi, Francesca, and thanks for wanting me as your guest! A big greeting to all the users of the blog. I'm Chiara Cilli, I'm 21 and I live in Pescara. I write since I was 16, writing the remake of the Alien saga and the fanfiction about japanese cartoons. Then I decided to be professional, I sat at my desk and I started creating the world of my first fantasy series.

- Yours is a fantasy novel in every respect. Is there any author who has influenced your choice of this genre?
I would say yes, because the first fantasy I read was Eragon by Christopher Paolini. I think that is all his fault! And then, of course, I discovered the Emerging World of Licia Troisi, and from there...

- Was it difficult to create the world Penthànweald and its various Lands? Did you always imagined it as we read it or have it undergone changes during the writing?
Now do not remember exactly whether to create this imaginary world cost me some effort - you talk about a few years ago - but I can assure you that Penthànweald has not undergone any change geographic. It was just the name, at first Bovethovia, to be changed.

- The protagonist and most other characters in your novel are the Gods. What inspired this your choice?
Difficult question! I do not know ... perhaps stems from the fact that I've always been fascinated by Greek mythology. I love the characters that are so powerful they can destroy everything with one finger.

- In the novel there is a sweeping love story. A story that would seem impossible but borns. Honestly, I very much appreciated it. Can you give us some spoilers of the development of this story in the next novels?
Ah, Morwen and Galadir ... Galadir and Morwen ... and Deshre? I can say that the history of Morwen and Galadir will be complicated. They are so different. She is so superior, yet he is so determined to love her, to get her panting with his arrogant presence. Their relationship is destined to become even more intense and passionate, but in their fate there is still so much death and so much pain. A pain so great that it threatens to cut the thin thread of their love.

- What is another genre that you value, beyond the fantasy, and which relate to your readings?
After the discovery of the fantasy genre, there was that of urban-fantasy, and since then I've only read novels of that genre. It was replaced by the paranormal and lately I'm very fascinated by contemporary erotic novels. So my current readings converge on the books for adults.

- What novel have you on the nightstand?
I just started 'Where Demons Fear To Tread' by Stephanie Chong.

- What do you plan for your future, apart from ending the series dedicated to The Queen of the Underworld?
The Queen of the Underworld saga is over since many years, and waiting to be published. Currently we are proceeding with the editing of the second book. I have in the drawer ready to be evaluated: the saga sequel of The Queen of the Underworld, a spin-off of the years that Morwen spends in the Kindom of Winged Horses, a cross-over from the point of view of one of the characters in the saga sequel , two urban-fantasy novels are already been shipped to Giunti Editore and Leggereditore - well hopefully! - and the first two books by two paranormal series still in progress. Now I'm writing my first contemporary erotic novel and I expect a series of three books.

What's your favourite quote?
The King laid his eyes on the kneeling woman. «Who did this carnage?» he asked with bitter and disgusted tone.
«Mine,» said Morwen with firm voice.

I love this scene, as well as all those in which Morwen shows off all of her superiority. But there are many others, especially those with Galadir. It's hard to pick just one quote.

- Do you want to whet our curiosity with a few more about the preview of the sequel of "The awakening of Fire", before saying goodbye?
Certainly! So, I can say that our Prince Galadir must show that he isn't just a pretty face: he will deal with the sadistic Goddess of Death, and all that she wants is him. Galadir finds himself fighting with his whole self, just to survive and groped to save his Morwen. Between torture and violent fights, the attraction between Deshre and Galadir never desappears and she finds herself in close contact with a guy that seems to have something irresistible, to even she isn't indifferent. It's time for Galadir to become protagonist and call upon all his willpower to the final confrontation with the woman who has the body of his lover. But the ultimate decision, one that could bring balance and lead to the emergence of a new and obscure domain, it's up to only one person...

- Thank you, Chiara, for answering my questions. I wish you much luck and I will be waiting to read your next work soon :)
