The Mark of the Beast – What is it?
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Rev 13:16-17)
The Mark of the Beast could be as simple as genetic therapy. A topical lotion, with nanoscale compounds soaking through your epidermis to tweak your DNA. This new class of nucleic acid structures does in fact exist, according to researchers at Northwestern University. This new breakthrough from Amy S. Paller and Chad Mirkin at Northwestern combines chemistry and dermatology to break through to target DNA. It uses agglomerations of nucleic acids, each about 1,000 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. When dispersed in a topical lotion, the nucleic acid clumps can breach all the skin’s layers. Once they’re inside the cells, they can selectively turn genes on and off. Could this be what the Mark of the Beast is all about, the changing of human DNA?
Listen carefully to these verses describing the effects of the Mark.
And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image. (Rev 16:2)
It will cause sores.
And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, (Rev 16:10)
It will cause pain.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Rev 19:20)
It will cause those who take it to be thrown into the Lake of Fire before everyone else is judged at the Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation (Rev. 20:12) .
I suggest this Mark will be a compound given by lotion or injection that changes a person’s DNA. They then become something not entirely human. Hence, there is no judgment as only man is destined to die and then stand Judgment.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Heb. 9:27)
Those who accept the Mark are no longer human. The Mark of the Beast is the number of man. The Lord is trying to tell us not to become something else, no matter the promise.
Does this sound like Science Fiction? Just think about the realities of the Tribulation. In the beginning a third of the Earth’s green grass is burned up, and I can assume people along with it. Wormwood hits the Earth as well as a comet. Mankind goes backward in terms of civilization not forward. So something already prepared and easily disturbed is necessary to create the Mark. An injection or lotion would only require the most primitive distribution system, and as we have shown could meet all the criteria for creating the Mark.
Therefore, I think we can put away worries about chips, or some form of bar-coding. These things require computers and their accompanying high technology. The conditions for great technology may not be available considering such things as EMP explosions and nuclear war. The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse brings war, famine, plagues, and death. These don’t seem to be the conditions which would engender scanning and bar-coding.
