Jason’s Passion

The prompt for the evening was to take one of our character’s passions away and write how the character would react. Jason, my assassin action hero, like a lot of the same things as me. As a result, I got to write a little bit of a personal fantasy.

Jason’s face dropped when the clerk told him they were out of his favorite Honduran cigars. Ever since the embargo, the quality of the Cubans had fallen and Honduras and the Dominican Republic had been making some of the highest quality stogies.

But when he learned they were also out of almond chocolate bars, his whole world crumbled. The clerk, sensing his frustration, offered a plain chocolate bar at half price, only to find himself staring down the barrel of a .45 automatic. Now Jason was angry..

“I kill people for a living,” he growled, a la Dirty Harry. “I get paid well for it, too, but if you don’t find an almond chocolate bar, I’ll kill you for nothin’”

The clerk fainted and collapsed into a heap. Jason rolled his eyes and put the gun away. Maybe he’d use the .50 next time. Or maybe the store owners will start carrying extra almond chocolate bars. Either way, he’d have his satisfaction.
