I never thought I'd blog. But what the hell. Let's do it.

I'll start with a favorite quote:

"And the people in houses... went to the university...they all got put in boxes and they all came out the same. There's doctors and lawyers....business executives! They all look like ticky tacky...AND THEY ALL COME OUT THE SAME!"

(But not me....at least that is what I tell myself).

My debut novel is being published by the good folks at Leucrota Press on May 29th. If you like gritty, dark, horror/sci fi reads please give it shot I'd love to hear what you think.

I have always been fascinated by ancient texts and religion in general. It was in studying one of these texts one afternoon at the bookstore that I came across the story of Enoch, the great grandfather of Noah. The Book of Enoch I came to find out was banned from our traditional old testament, but is in fact included in Ethiopian canon. Anyway....I came across a storyline about the Nephilim, born of demon seed- but with human mothers. The Book of Watchers, a part of the Book of Enoch, talks specifically of these acts...of how a demon lead a band of his brothers to earth to have children with women...the offspring, called the Nephilim- were giants among men and were said to have supernatural powers.....and they are mentioned briefly in the book of Genesis...anyway, I've always enjoyed science fiction that had inspiration from ancient texts and religion...because I always allow my imagination to say- My God what IF it was actually true? This ancient story provided the inspiration for One If By Heaven, Two If By Hell....

Colleen Personally, I think it's ashame that 1st, 2nd & 3rd Enoch ended up in the pseudepigrapha, I think they should have been part of the Bible, but that's a different discussion. Enoch has to be one of the most facinating books in ancient literature!!! Are you planing a sequel to One if by Heaven, Two if by Hell?
