Another old find
If you've read any of my previous posts, you'll know that I'm a sucker for finding old books. And I found yet another set of great finds today at a local "trash and treasure" from a local church today.
With only spending $4, I was able to pick up quite a few books today, mostly references that I can use later in my writing career and through the rest of my college days. But I found one particular book that turned more into a treasure once I did some research.
My sister is a huge fan of Gone with the Wind, the film and book. So when I spotted a 1939 edition of Gone With the Wind today, the Motion Picture Edition I didn't realize what a great find this truly was.
With doing a little research and sending off a few emails, I'm hoping that my 50 cent find will turn into a small gem worth a couple of hundred dollars. I was surprised to see that the one item I intended to give away as a gift was the one true gem that came out of the old stack.
Regardless of the value of the book, there will be a story when I give it to my sister for whatever occoasion I should choose and honestly, that's more important to me than the dollar value. I'm not sure when I'll give it up, but when I do, I'm sure that my sister (also a writer) will appreciate the time and research I've put into this particular find. It is in excellent condition and cannot wait to see what the experts have to email me back.
I shall keep you posted and attach pictures when I do.
Until then, thanks for reading,
