Amazonfail 2010, Mythmaker Interview, Updates

The big story over the weekend was that Amazon temporarily stopped selling all Macmillan books, which includes all my books from Tor, to protest Macmillan's new ebook terms. There's not a lot I have to add to this discussion, except to say that Tor's publicity department thought the illustration accompanying Engadget's article on the affair was hilarious. Still, if you haven't heard about what's been happening, or if you've emailed me asking why you suddenly can't buy my books from Amazon...

Evan Scangas 14.99$ for an electronic copy of a novel is absurd. Besides saving space and trees, the e-book readers (I have the Kindle)are a great medium for Readers due to the lower cost of the novels. It is not my job to pay for the loss of sales of hardcovers and paperbacks that are unsold by the publisher if they continue to print the same amounts though. I can only assume that's the reason they're trying to rape me on the price for a digital copy. I wish these companies would embrace new tech rather than trying to force it to fit their expectations and outdated pricing models.

note- the Kindle does not stop me from buying physical copies, i have 1000+ books in my guestroom and I enjoy having a library and completing hardcover series.
