Carly’s Obligatory Post
THE IPHONE 5 is HERE! Knowing it was coming, I almost asked Julie to switch days with me this week. Why? Because of Apple’s Big September 12 announcement, of course! But I refrained, instead waiting until the day after to SQUEE! So before you ask, YES I’m getting it. I have the iPhone 4, not the 4S. My camera is awful and it’s the only camera I have on me. So I NEED the better camera for pictures I post and want to keep! But the coolest thing I saw in today’s announcement? GPS with AUDIO turn by turn directions!!!! I can’t find my way out of a paper bag. Two days ago I got lost going to a local high school that’s closer to my house than my daughter’s school. This is awesome! I mean my car has GPS but in a quick, I’m lost pinch, I need this! And when I’m in NYC? Awesome! So yes, I’m getting the iPhone 5. And I am sure nobody is surprised. If you’ve been here since 2007, you’ll remember this post - me on the iPhone line outside the Apple store.
So am I the only one so totally psyched over the newest Apple gadget?

Congratulations on your new purchases. I'm still at the "dumb" phone level. And I still use maps and a mapbook! Map Quest has screwed me up more times then I can count. But I do have a pretty good digital camera where I can download the photos onto my computer. It was hard to get rid of my Canon that used actual film. And I'm ahead of my girlfriend who doesn't even have a microwave yet - she's afraid of the invisible rays they put out!!! I'm just so happy I'm not one of my grandchildren. They're in for an exciting life with all the new technological advancements. But they'll never know dial phones and black and white TVs. What a shame. The "old" days did have some perks!
