Honestly? I didn’t. I’m terrible when it comes to balance and always have been. That said, I can offer this advice: 


1. Face the page every day. Even if you’re just blogging or writing in a journal or making up lyrics or whatever. Even if it’s just for 15 minutes. (Facebook and twitter do not count.) If you lose the habit of sitting down to work, it gets harder and harder to get back into a project.


2. Go easy on yourself. You’re going to have good days and bad days. Life happens and you’ll get pulled off course. The trick is not letting a bad day turn into a bad month.
