New New New…
New.
I have so many new things in my life.
I have a new nephew named Tyler. I have a new dedication to physical fitness. I have a renewed love of Spumoni ice cream… okay, maybe that dedication to physical fitness ain’t that great.
But this is a blog about the life of a writer so let me tell you about the new things going on there.
To start, I have a new distributor for the audio book version of The Worth of Dreams The Value of Dreamers. And I couldn’t be happier. I recorded the book myself, narrated it, edited it – put a lot of hard work into it. I can’t wait until it hits the market.
My goal here is simple. I want to grow my audience by expanding into new media. If this sells well enough, I’ll record more audio books in the future. You can be sure of that; I’m a ham. My hope is that people who listen to The Worth of Dreams The Value of Dreamers might be interested in picking up an e-book or a paperback book. Maybe they’ll be interested in producing one of my plays. (Heck, I can dream, can’t I?)
My commitment to writing, to making my dream a reality (if I might slip into some Recovering The Self language for a minute) is unshakable, especially now that I am finding people just as enthusiastic about my work as I am. First, I found Jeanie at Sullivan Maxx who loved Climbing Maya and Dynamic Pluralism. Second, I found theaters and groups enthusiastic about producing my plays – though, okay, that number can never grow large enough. Third, I found someone new, which is my next announcement.
Recently, I signed a contract with Corvisiero Literary Agency to represent Wormfood Island. Jeanie and Stacey, my contact at Corvisiero, were both amazingly giving and kind, helping me split my writing into fiction and non-fiction subsets so each could take a hand in my success. I can’t thank them enough.
I feel great about Wormfood Island finding representation at Corvisiero because it has been such a long road with that book. You might remember that I signed a contract for publication with Northern Frights Publishing and they were just the best people to work with. But then, just before publication and through no fault of their own, Northern Fights had to close their doors. Now, Corvisiero brings new life to Wormfood Island and I couldn’t be happier.
Things have been changing a lot in my life but I’m fortunate that some of those changes have been incredibly positive. It gives me the strength to redouble my efforts and keep going, even if I’m not what you’d call New.
