1977 was the year my family had seven funerals to go to including my dad's and my father-in-law's.

When Daddy died on March 22, 1977, I think it was the third in the series, it was sudden. He went to work one day and dropped dead from a heart attack while he was punching in his time card. The entire family was reeling. Since none of us in the immediate family belonged to a local synagogue we arranged for a "rent-a-rabbi" though the funeral home.
