Editing "One Night of Regrets"

When writing, "One Night of Regrets", I realized that it is a human tendency to want edit things before they are found acceptable to us as we would have them to be....people, events, situations, mistakes in others pasts. Whether you are a writer or not, we all have this tendency. We look at the mistakes of others to determine is they are worthy of our time. Yet, the Bible tells us that God accepts all...along with all their mistakes. He forgives and offers acceptance. This is the kind of love He has commanded us to show to one another...not judging. This is how others will know that we are His followers. Of course, in life, we can't edit out these things. But, we do have the capacity to look beyond these things.

This is the reason, I decided to intentionally leave mistakes in the manuscript of "One Night of Regrets" when sending it to final print. The book is about the many mistakes the character has made after all, and the mistakes that plagued her until she finds salvation and receives peace. By the time you finish the book, you will realize that the main character has written the book. It would not have been fitting for such a character who had made so many mistakes to take on the illusion that in her writing she had suddenly gained perfectionism only in that one area of her life.

Under my quotes you will notice:

Every life is a story. Every story has mistakes. Sometimes it is the mistakes that make the story so much more than it may have been otherwise.

From a Christian stand point, especially in salvation... It is always the mistakes one has made in their life that makes their witness of salvation more compelling. Without the mistakes, it would just be another story...just like all the others.
