Writers Block destroyed

So my first novel met with very mixed reviews. Seemed to polarize folks. Either folks liked it or hated it. Very few said it was just ok....

Now, I'm faced with a decision. Press on, write another novel, or call it quits and focus on my day job....Finance. Ugh. Actually Finance isn't that bad. Beats picking up trash or mowing lawns for a living....my father always thought I should mow lawns for a living..not sure why. For some reason he thought there was a lot of money in it....I suppose if I opened my own landscaping company?

Regardless I have been faced with a writers block situation. A wall towering so high that it rivals the tower of babel itself....with a three year old that demands all my attention, a sixteen month old attached to my legs, a job that has an hour commute twice a day, my excuses are enormous not to write.

I said I'd take a year off. Then I started thinking, maybe I'll just wait until the kids are older....

But then..just as all hope was lost, something happened. It started flowing. Seven chapters wrote themselves. Better than anything I've ever done, or so I hope, so I pray, so I think anyway.....

I pledge not to repeat the mistakes of the past. This one will be better. It may still polarize folks though. I just can't write anything purely mainstream. And, I can't stand vampire stories. There are billions of 'em....

So, stay tuned, but another wild, demented story is coming. Hopefully, with all the shortcomings of the first one addressed as I continue to hone this hobby that God willing will one day be my craft..
