Five to Ten Seconds

I remember one day when I was going to the gym, a lady stopped me on the way out to say, “Hello.” I haven’t seen her before and she must have been new at the front desk. We briefly chatted and the conversation lasted about 5 to 10 seconds or so.

About 15 minutes later I was driving on the freeway about to pass this eighteen - wheeler truck… when all of a sudden, something happened. The driver of the truck slammed on his breaks, and smoke shot out everywhere as he side swiped a small car to th
