So, in case you haven't noticed, I kind of wrote an entire book about wishes. About how what you think you want isn't what you need, about how what you need isn't necessarily what you want, and all the good stuff in between. I think those concepts and thus, the concepts of wishing for something in general, were aspects of AS YOU WISH that I knew I wanted to incorporate even before the character of Jinn came into being.
