At A Time, in a place....

.....this is the 10,000 Lakes Tales mantra, and each book starts out with this welcoming statement to get your mind ready to read about those familiar characters which many will come to know and love.

Many books use lines like, once upon a time, or in a place far away, but in most cases, this is not Original.

[Full Mantra]

At a time, in a place,
named for 10,000 Lakes,
The Great Blue Heron Stood,
On The Banks, of North Woods.

At a time: A fictional time between 4 years of changing seasons.

In a place: A place named North Woods, and there actually is a place in Minnesota named North Woods where all these animals actually dwell, I guess the details are Not, so fictional about the setting and the characters.

Named for 10,000 Lakes: Minnesota's moniker, is the Land of 10,000 Lakes, so aptly, a book series about the animals that inhabit Minnesota was named after the states most famous nickname. The 10,000 Lakes Tales.

The Great Blue Heron Stood on the banks of North Woods: The Great Blue Heron is the leader and founder of The Woodlands Council and usually when animal confrontations take place, a speech is made, a great battle ensues that causes a member of the storyline to leave the woods, arrive in the woods, pick a side between good and evil, or is no longer alive, this action takes place on one of the 3 River Banks mentioned in the story, the North Bank, the South Bank, or the Bank of North Woods where most of the popular carnivores dwell...the canines and felines. When Great Blue Heron founds the council it is on The North Bank. When the council is disbanded it is on The North Bank, when the council is re-instated it is done of the Bank of North Woods.

There are 10 books in the series, The 10,000 Lakes Tales.

1. The Great & Wise Racool
2. Oscar Otter [Band of Brother]
3. Oscar Otter [The Mystery Shrubbery]
4. Oscar Otter [Into The Land of Man]
5. The Bird & Bug Network

Each story gives you the distinct perspective of the lead character/ characters as they live through what happens during the 4 years the council is created, disbanded and brought back together as the animals try to adapt to man now living in the forest with them and creating change that causes a separation among the animals and usurpation of the natural laws of the forest sets this same forest in an uproar.

We've introduced this book series with the end, we read the events that take place as the evil doers of the forest are overthrown and the food chain is set back in order as it is seen thru the eyes of a baby fox named Foster.
