More Answers From Lucas and Derek
Okay, I had a little time to ask Lucas and Derek a few more of your questions. So, here are their answers. You may be surprised by what they say.
1. Could you try to get along and possibly become friends with Lucas/Derek if it meant that Kylie would be happier? –Sherri
Derek: I could get along with him, but I’m not completely sure we could become friends. Or at least not close friends. It bothers me that he’s hurt Kylie. And yes, I know that I hurt her, too. And I’m angry at myself about that. I think that will always be one of my biggest regrets.
Lucas: If Kylie wanted it, I’d try to do it, because I want her to be happy. But the truth is that while I’d try, I’m not sure Derek and I have enough in common to be friends. I mean, the thing we have in common mostly is Kylie, and that doesn’t bring us together, it actually does the opposite.
2. Okay, boys, you both know that the other has feelings for Kylie and you both know that currently, Lucas is with Kylie. Putting that aside, as well as your own feelings (or lack thereof) for each other and her, who do you HONESTLY think is best for Kylie? –Missy
Derek: Isn’t that answer evident? The only reason Kylie is with Lucas now is because I screwed up. I can read her emotions, I can feel what she feels. When she’s sad, I can make her happy. When she’s upset, I can help her cope. I love her and I accept her for whatever she is—unlike someone else. Isn’t that love? Wanting to be there to help the person you care about deal with the hard times in life. Accepting everything about the person. If Kylie will just give me a second chance, I’ll prove to her that we were meant to be.
Lucas: Kylie and I have had a bond since we were six and seven-years-old. As crazy as it sounds, I think I knew she was the one for me even back then. She doesn’t know it yet, well, she does figure it out in Whispers at Moonrise, but she was my first kiss, my first love. I snuck into her bedroom window one night when she was sleeping and pressed my lips to her cheek. It was awesome and scary at the same time. I know Kylie and I have some things to work out. My pack and my family don’t think we’re a good match. But what the hell do that know? And soon, very soon, I can stop pretending with my dad and tell him that this is my life and I’m going to live it the way I want to. And that way will always include Kylie.
So, who do you HONESTLY feel would be best for Kylie? Not necessarily who you think is hot (well they both are really!), but who do you think would make her happiest?

Im thinking Derek.... I was hoping Lucas but its such a hard choice and at the end Derek does accept Kylie for who she is... Its such a hard choice but for now Derek would be my choice..

Well, I really like Lucas, but after reading this and having read the books, I think it's Derek...
I think Lucas, because he's never hurt her as much as Derek has. Even though Derek feels terrible for what he did to her it still doesn't change the fact that he did it.

I want her to be with Lucas, but it really does seem like he can't accept her for what she is... and I don't think he will unless she's a werewolf.

i think Derek,becasue he's willing to enment that he did somthing wrong. even though i love Lucas too, i can still see her happer with Derek.
I've always been on Dereks side. Even in the second book when he pushes her away cuz honestly I think it would be really hard to feel someones emtions that strongly and know that there is a possibility that the feelings she has for someone else might be stronger then the ones she feels for you, and add not understanding why there so much stronger then normal would make me go crazy!But I honeslty think Lucas hurts Kylie more by not really excepting her for who she really is. I think that would be so heartbreaking especially when he expects Kylie to understand why he acts and does the things he does. Can someone say hypercrit. Now I know there are really good reasons behind what he does, but still.
Derek all the way!!!!! i love him. he and kylie belong together
Well, I think it's obvious that Derek is better suited to her and he does deserve to be with her even though he did hurt her. I think everyone forgets that Lucas hurt her just as much when he left her. Both boys hurt her and both boys had good reasons so as far as hurt goes they're on a level pegging.
Lucas is a werewolf and leader of his pack, his first priority will always be the pack not Kylie. He has family issues and will never open up fully to Kylie. He can't reveal his secrets and as a result will hurt Kylie time and again. So I guess you know where I'm going with that one.
Derek is kind and caring and as far as Kylie goes he accepts her for who she is, now that truly is love - warts and all. He has no problems opening up anymore now he's resolved the issue of why his felt Kylie's emotions ten fold.
He doesn't have as much of a potential to hurt her but that's not enough reason to choose him - after all we don't always love what's good for us.
She does feel passionately about both of them.
There's an arguement that Lucas is more mature and Derek is still a boy but maybe what should considered there is that Lucas has done all this developing emotionally and physically where as Derek still has the best to come and it's a close call now.
So anyway, I'm with Derek all the way!!!

They are both really sweet and it is amazing how much they both love her and Kylie would be great with either of them but can't she survive without a guy? I mean do stories always have to be about a guy? I love to read about romance and i think it important for someone to have friends and someone who loves them but can't the girl also be kick ass independent? Anyways I don't really have a preference I like both of the guys and they are pretty cool.

However the love triangle makes things a little more exciting and who knows maybe in the final book she will just walk her path alone.
Derek. I don't think Lucas's pack will ever accept that he wants to be with Kylie. And Lucas was DISAPPOINTED when Kylie wasn't a werewolf. Derek accepted her for who she was at the beginning. Also when Kylie was dating Lucas, she kept thinking about Derek. Thats not how a good relationship is supposed to be.AND

I think Derek because he accepts Kiliey for what she is and truly loves her. I like Derek and Lucas both equally but derek has my vote. We dont know if Lucas loves Kiley, yeah he obviously cares but it's not the same. He doesnt want her to help the ghosts because it's to 'dangerous' and doesnt accept her for what she is. We all know that if he will choose to stay with Kiley he is gonna have to choose between his pack and her eventually. If he will choose Kiley he wont be the leader AND a member of the pack anymore. So i think the choice is pretty obvious. Plus, there is the fact that if she isn't a werewolf ( which she is not) she wont be accepted by Lucas grandmother and step sister. Derek's mum already likes Kiley so there wont be a problem.

true....but i still cant help liking\hoping it's Derek. seeing as in 'Taken at Dusk' Lucas became a jerk. although im not saying that Derek did somthing wrong bc we all know he did. but i just like him more than Lucas.

(i think i have read books with those names for main characters) And guess that both Derek and Lucas have some issues they still need to work out, Derek was being a little obnoxious and Lucas is not very understanding and he is very possessive.

Agreed he has more of a best friend type feel not a i wanna have sex with you feel, i guess the person you fall in love with needs to be your friend but he is just friend zone.
I personally don't think either is a great choice for Kylie.Lucas has his pack, and the way he acts about his pack, and the way his pack doesn't like Kylie, it seems he's more in a relationship with his pack than Kylie. Also Lucas and his grandmother don't seem to happy she's not a werewolf.
Derek seems like a friend. There's just something about him that bothers me, and makes me think he's not right for Kylie.
Also we barely see how she deals with them at the same time, things start happening with one of them, he disappears, things start happening with the other one, he disappears, the other one comes back. Very confusing.
Hopefully in the next book, one or both of these guys will step up their game, and be perfect for Kylie.
Lucas and Derek that was really good anwsers. I am really confuse with this Characters I love them both. I won't chose some one because I think they are really hot. I chose this person from what is on the inside. I hope and prey it's Lucas. Lucas has had a hard time growing up and he just need some one to love. Some thing good to happen to him. I don't know what to say about Derek. I know Derek has had a hard time growing up with out a dad. The different right now in the story is from the beginning Lucas has all ways been loyal and has never given up on Kylie. Derek has had doubts of his love for Kylie. Derek is kind of a player and I think thats what scares Kylie. So like I said I still chose Lucas I hope I am right can't wait to read the nexts book Whisper At Moon Rise. There's a lot that happens with both guys in Whispers at Moonrise and I thinks it's going to be interesting to see how many of you actually change your tune with what guy she should choose.

It sounds like his family is making decision with out asking. He might or dosen't want to lead a pack heck maybe Kylie can join. Lets just say it is Lucas choice what he want with his life. Well I have been so tug-o-warring with this since book 1 and even though I love Lucas after reading Whisper's at Moonrise I am just not too sure anymore! I think Derek is really good for Kylie, but Lucas has loved her for so long how do you just throw that away I mean they have a real bond too! I think Derek would have no problem finding someone else to love in the future, but I do not think Lucas would ever feel the same about anyone else. So see now back to the tug-o-war lol!

Derek! I can't really explain it, but from the beginning of this series I have been rooting for them to be together. BUT both are hott and seem to care about her, she could do well with either.

Derek~ relationships are work and they aren't happiness all the time. They have to work through some things but I honestly think they would be better suited for each other. Lucas might come to accept Kylie but I still think Derek and Kylie fit better together.
DEREK all the way. I love him so much and he is so sweet to Kylie. Plus he can read emotions, therefore will always make her happy.
