Where's Polly been?

After a few months of high creativity, and lots of short stories published, the last month or two have been remarkably quiet for me. Anyonte would be forgiven for thinking I'd gone missing in action, or perhaps missing due to inaction.

Well I haven't, and I'm still here.

So what's been going on?

A combination of factors has led to my apparent silence.

First, that high level of creativiy in spring and early summer was at least partly genuine, but it was also down to a bottleneck with my publisher: I had stories queued up, just waiting to work their way through the system and be made available. This led to stories getting published at a rate of one a week, and I looked impressively productive for a time!

Around June that queue cleared, and it's been down to me to deliver new stories.

That's where other factors kicked in. A frantically busy couple of months ate into my writing time, and health problems added to the complications. And then I've been working on a new project: longer and more complex than stories  I've written to date. I'm very excited by it, and the first instalment is due to be revealed here soon.

So yes, I've been quiet, but I'm back, and raring to go!
