Random Saturday – A Tour of Netherworld
The countdown begins...
If you’ve been following the Netherworld series, you might be curious as to the people and places of Fulton Falls and the surrounding areas. The third book is out in six days, so here’s your chance to see the major players and where the dead and undead live.
Welcome to the opulent King George Hotel, as featured in all three books. This is one of the few pictures taken of it before the Great Fire of ’36 that demolished it.
Ruling over the ground floor, which is all that remains of the grand old hotel, is Ford County Commissioner, Tristan Keith. He is also the ruler of the local vampire clutch and one of heroine Brandilynn Payson’s sweethearts.
Another landmark figuring largely in the Netherworld landscape is the original Fulton Falls Library, which also burned up in the fire.
Seen among the shelves of books is Miss Gertrude, a residual haunt. She’s a part of the library’s memory, not a true ghost.
This is also the favored place where ghost Dan Saling, Brandilynn’s other sweetheart, likes to hang out. By the strap in the picture below, you can tell he’s also a Dom that will bend a naughty sub like Brandilynn over a library table for some well-deserved discipline.
And speaking of our heroine, here is Brandilynn herself.
In the first book Drop Dead Sexy, Brandilynn was killed on the roof of a shack of the Okefenokee. As a ghost, it was here in this same shack that she faced off with her killer.
This is the cemetery in Fulton Falls where Brandilynn’s body is interred.
Tristan ended up fighting for his afterlife outside his former home on Goose Creek Island, which is across the waterway from Fulton Falls. This is that home, known as Sanderson Cottage. It’s open for tours year round.
In the second book Blood Potion No. 9, Brandilynn’s dance card got a little crowded when the temptation of werewolf undercover agent Levi ‘Bane’ Ward came onto the scene. And while she remains committed to Tristan and Dan, she just can’t help but flirt with the Big Bad Wolf.
In the upcoming Once Bitten Twice Dead, we’ll see where Tristan’s body currently rests when his vampire body dies for the day. It’s the lovely Hunter’s Chapel on Goose Creek Island.
A few gargoyles who work for Tristan at night sleep on the chapel’s bell tower during the day.
In the new book, we’ll see the emergence of a character who will play a bigger part in upcoming installments in the series. Werepanther Gerald Marshall has been aboard since the first book as Tristan’s sister Patricia’s personal bodyguard. Brandilynn has always enjoyed the eye candy. With the cataclysmic events coming, could she eventually enjoy him as a bit more?
I hope you’ve had fun on the tour. The Netherworld gang looks forward to seeing you Friday, August 11 with the release of Once Bitten Twice Dead.
