Insecure Writer's Support Group, August

The Insecure Writer’s Support Group Hosted by Alex J Cavanaugh
I have much to celebrate this month, so I'm not allowing myself to be insecure. At least, not for the month of August. I do have good news that has had me doing the Snoopy Happy Dance for a couple weeks now.

First, I'm thrilled to be able to announce that I'm now an agented author. I recently signed with Tina Schwartz, literary agent at The Purcell Agency.

Second, my son turns twenty-two this month. My boys have always been the constant sunshine in my life. Their birth is definitely cause for celebration!

Third, my publisher has put all their young adult titles on sale. This is huge, because they don't run many sales. Readers can now experience the magic of my debut novel EMBRACE for only $2.99. That's $4 off the regular price. Like I said, it's HUGE!

And last but not least, I'll be attending the SCBWI Summer Conference in Los Angeles. Anyone else going? I'd love to meet some of my blog friends in person. What's cool about this year is I'll be attending as a published author. I'm very grateful to Steve Mooser, Lin Oliver, and the rest of SCBWI. This group is truly amazing. I found my lovely and talented critique partners through them, I've learned so much about the industry, and I've met so many wonderful people whom I may never have had the pleasure of meeting without SCBWI. If you are going, check out Katie's over at Once Upon a *Sparks* post for great tips!

That's it for me today. Like I said, I'm not allowing myself to be insecure.
