Demon Spawn is Dead
I am sorry it has taken me so long to post this new blog, but life has gotten very chaotic in the past month. My beloved German Shepherd, Cody, has been waging a gallant but inevitably losing battle against old age, and he took a sudden turn for the worse just before Christmas. It was touch and go for a while, but I am happy to report that he has rallied dramatically after getting a cortisone shot. Hi, Lindsey,Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed Dragon's Lair. Praise for the mysteries means a lot to me since I've had to stop writing them--hopefully temporarily. My publisher wants me to concentrate upon the historicals for now as they sell better. I understand their logic in such a bad economy, but I am not willing to give up on Justin yet--I consider him not dead, merely on life support for the time being.
Luckily you ought to have many good years ahead with your Bichon; the little guys have longer life spans, as I am sure you know. Cody is not only a shepherd, but a very big one, so eleven is really elderly for him. But four is younger than springtime!
I have read all of your novels. I so much enjoy them and the history of England. I hope Cody and you have a few more years together. It is so sad when a dog crosses the rainbow bridge. I still do not know how to deal with that sadness.
It is very hard, Marylou. Thank you for your sympathy. I had to put Cody down in March when he could no longer walk, truly the hardest thing I've ever done. But I have now adopted another shepherd, a sweet boy with a dreadful history of physical abuse and cruel treatment. It is lovely to watch him blossom, like a flower starved for the sun. I like to think that Cody approves!

I just started reading Dragon's Lair yesterday and was hooked for 6 straight hours and just finished the last bit on my lunch break. What an incredible, engaging, charismatic story!
I will be ordering the rest of the series soon, as I just realized that this is the third book of four.
Thank you so much for writing this novel, it is absolutely wonderful.
P.S. I am sorry to hear about your doggy, I could not imagine what it is like to see your boy go though old age. (and am not looking forward to it myself with my Bichon who is current at 4 years of age)
