[in]security with manuscripts

My usual deal is to e-mail the day's work to myself and a friend -- and once or twice a week I read through the whole novel and make changes as I go, and then email that.  Of course it was one of those "global" rewrites that got disintegrated.Of course I can go back through the dailies and reconstruct everything important, but I would lose the small changes I made in the last global pass.  I do have Time Machine, and I'm sure that in a couple of years that will be all I need.  It's still buggy and clumsy, though, and I'm not going to trust my offspring with a mentally unstable babysitter . . . .Joe
