#SixSentenceSunday: Billy and Jeremy

I've missed six sentence for a few weeks and it feels great to be back!
This week's Six come from my new release, The P-Town Queen. Nikki talks about her father and aunt and their feelings about her gay brother, Billy and his boyfriend, Jeremy:


And he probably would have by now if not for Jeremy. Pop would accept Billy, but he might never abide Jeremy.
Pop’s sister, our Aunt Viddie, believed that homosexuality was an affliction and that Billy had caught the disease the summer he worked at Spiritos Pizza as a dishwasher. It must have been the dishwater, she surmised. She would shake her head and say “poor boy” whenever Billy’s name was mentioned. Since common sense was not Viddie’s strong suit, trying to disavow our aunt of her notion was a little like trying to tell the rain not to fall.
