Brief Recap of My Time at InConjunction!

Hello all! Sorry this took so long to get up, but Ive been so busy this month that it's ridiculous and I've got another announcement in the works for next week so stay tuned for that!
So July 8th was long, busy, and awesome! I got to sit on some cool panels, ended up hosting one solo, and had a really cool person win my set of books from the drawing! Here is my brief recap of that Saturday!
My day started at 7 am, when I got the last of my preparations finished, dressed, picked up Heather, and made it to the convention at 9am. We took a half hour to set up the table...
By 10 I had my first panel, "The Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television of the last 10 Years." Thank god I had Mike there, a man who would follow me through all the comic book panels, because I locked up while trying to make a point about the show The 4400. Mike was very understanding being my first time and got me through.
Next was manning the table for a few hours, trying to promote my wares and get people involved in the drawing. Sadly only three people entered. Thankfully, Kim was the most excited about my book and ended up winning them!  I was there from 11:30 to 4-ish. I met some really cool people forming their own publishing company whose looking for some short stories for their anthology.
Next came The Future of Comic Book Movies. Mike was there once again to help me out, but I was a little more prepared this time having done some more thorough research before hand.
Next was one of the big ones, Mistakes beginning writers make.
There were seven of us total, and since I was the only one that had an actual game plan (since I at first expected that I was hosting it myself) I became the moderator for the panel, bringing up points to talk about and fielding questions while dishing out answers as well. It went really well and I was very excited for what happened.
Between that and the next panel there was an hour, so I grabbed some snacks, got a picture with a Female Hawk Cos-player, and a break cause my brain felt like it was going to explode.
However that was nothing compared to what happened at the next panel.
For Most memorable SF/F Heroes and Villains, there was suppose to be two of us, but the other guy flaked out. So yes, I had to run the panel solo. thankfully I had my own list prepared, and got the audience to chime in their thoughts as well (I even jabbed at Edward from Twilight, which did not go over too well) All in all, that went okay.
Next was the second writing panel, Writing and holding a full time job. That also have five people on it, and once against I become the moderator since I had the game plan more or less. We talked about, at the core, that writing needed to be a number one priority if you wanted to be published. Overall that went very well as well (did I mention that the Author Guest of Honor Kevin Hearne was at both of these?).
Finally, I had Comic Book Movies in retrospect. Once again Mike and I teamed up with another guy from the previous panel and we had a blast talking about the recent Spider-Man, comparing it to old Spider-man, and many debates on the good, the bad, and the ugly.
All in all for my first convention as a guest went very well. Met really cool people and had a great time with it. I would definitely do it again.
Thanks for following guys!
