Today is My first Blog Ever!
My wife thought it would be a good Idea for me to write a blog, at first I was like yeah sure I'll get around to it, But after some long thinking, I thought to myself it might be a good thing after all. I realized as an author you spend a lot of time alone, so talking to yourself and telling yourself the same old lame joke after fifty or so times can make you want to tear your hair out, and it gets really boring, really fast. So talking to you all might do me some good. I'll have someone to blab to and not bounce off the walls like I did when I wrote Morgan House. I hope you will gain a little insight into what it takes to write a novel, and feel the sometimes seclusion and aloneness that sometimes goes along with it. Writing a book has its up sides and also its downs. But nothing is more rewarding than when you’re finished and you type The End as your last words on your manuscript. The feeling can be overwhelming and so self gratifying. I hope you all will take this journey with me and see what it’s like behind the scenes in the life of a novelist. I can promise you’ll be happy about the process, find it funny, and frustrating at times. The frustrating times are for me, not you, but I promise it'll never be dull. And I know that if I can inspire just one of you to go for your dreams, and get a novel complete, then this would've all been worth it. The discipline is there you just gotta pull it out of yourself and go for it.
Before I begin, I would just like to say on the day that I decided to start my blog is the same day as the tragic event that unfolded in Aurora, Colorado. It’s such a shame that you can’t even go to the movies and feel safe anymore. I pray for the families and friends of the victims, and I pray that God will have forgiveness for that poor troubled young man who did that horrible deed of shooting those innocent people, who’d all just gone out to have a good time. My heart goes out to all of you in the state of Colorado during this painful time, and know that hate is never the way to go. Good will always prevail over evil. God is with you all.
Anyway now that I said my part about that. I would like to just say thanks to everyone who helped me get through Morgan House, and helped make my dream of becoming a novelist come true. And as I journey toward the completion of Morgan house II and my new Sci-Fi 12 book series called A Pound of Flesh which I think is going to be a huge hit with all of you. I’ll be talking about that book a lot, and giving you sneak-peeks to what that book is all about. Trust me you’re gonna love it! Right now, I ask that all of you all follow me as I go through the process of finishing them both. I want to share this experience with you over the next few weeks, if you’ll allow me to do so. You’ll get to know me as an author and as a person, and you’ll get to see what I’m all about. I don’t know if I’ll always make sense, but I’ll do my best not to lose you. I’ll be writing on here as much as I can, right now it’ll be three times a week that I’ll be blogging to you all,(That sounds so strange to me.) closer to completion of both Morgan House II and the first book of A Pound of Flesh, probably every day. Yes I’m writing two novels at the same time, which most people would say is crazy, so hey! Call me crazy. I know, so we’ll see how it goes. I’m halfway through both books right now... Morgan House II has a word count is at fifty seven thousand and change, and A pound of flesh’s is close to sixty thousand words, and I’m going for around a hundred ten thousand words on both books as an ending number maybe a little more, which sounds like a lot, because frankly it is. I haven’t gone nuts yet writing both books and over the next few weeks we’ll see if I do. Well I’ll be back on Monday with more. Have a good weekend get out and have some fun, and try not to let the crazy things in life get you down. And remember “You were born original, so don’t be a copy.” I’m outta here!
