Six Sentence Sunday - 15 Jul 2012

This week I need to "encourage" my muse a little, so I've chosen to present six from a WIP, tentatively titled Radiq, a swords and sorcery M/M/M menage adventure.

Radiq reined in his horse atop the rise; the stallion blew and stamped, its breath billowing in the cool morning air. Their shadows stretched out before them, pointing the way to Thal Qedoq--The City of the Red Mages--that lay nestled in the foothills of the Great Western Mountains, its gates overlooking the Valley of Sha Harim. He’d be riding through those gates by mid-day, although ten years ago he’d ridden out those same gates and sworn never to return--but that oath meant little when weighed against the life of the man he loved.

Ironically, saving that life would mean sacrificing his love. Prince Vadim could no more be Radiq’s mate than Radiq could fly to one of the pale moons, which even now faded as the sun grew stronger. Sighing a cloud of his own into the air, Radiq kicked the stallion into a trot and headed down the talus slope.

Thanks for reading! Be sure to check out more Sunday snippets here.

'Til next time!

Elin I love sword and sorcery stories. This looks a fascinating world. More than one moon - the tides would be ferocious! Also the reunion between Radiq and Vadim is likely to be interesting.

Yeah, particularly because Vadim needs the help of the Red Mages' Guildmaster--who just happens to be Radiq's estranged brother, Marron. Interesting is putting it mildly ...
