David Cronenberg’s movie, Cosmopolis

Whenever David Cronenberg does a film, you know to expect something a long way removed from car chases and the usual Hollywood usual. And so it goes with Cosmopolis (based on the Don DeLillo book).

This is a dystopian near-future cyberpunkish tale of a world living through a continual capitalist hyper-depression, dominated by super-powerful investment bankers – hey, we’re getting there. Robert Pattinson plays one such whiz-kid, who lives in the back of a cyberspace equipped limo, but has to face a few difficult truths when the going gets Cronenberged.

Looks like it could be Naked Lunch meets Wall Street meets Neuromancer.

I hope so…
