EXECUTION

Today is POET'S Day and a perfect time to remember that there is greater meaning in personal stories. For the meanings are deepest when they are heartfelt.

But first a beautiful song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF2__...

Now the heartfelt poem:

EXECUTION

Desperate yearners always seek the frailest genius in view,
Who the magnanimous mentor saw first how to manifest.
For a reward of generosity one never received or knew,
No dark angel of cogent manipulation ever obsessed!

For in the realm of pedantic intellect and clever beauty
There is magnanimity to be craved, duped and taken.
For which no amount of faintest hope for reciprocity
Can awaken what the apathetic executioner has forsaken.

Somewhere between the time and place where they stand,
The giver must climb the gallows of his ill-received heart.
Where the lever that is thrown by the sweet, sinister hand
Is the darkest form of betrayal that rips and rends apart!

Thus, later in years and dreams can justice be enacted,
Denied by deception amidst and wept by guardians above!
For there is no cruelty worst, to remain unredacted,
Than the soft, smiling soul who murders loyalty and love.
