Learning
It's been a few months now since I started independantly publishing books. It's strange being a new writer because you grow at an outstanding rate. I'm already a better writer than I was one week, one day, one hour ago. I look back at my old work and say, "You liked that? Well, wait until you read this." I know it's different when you're indepenantly published. You don't have publishing houses backing you, making your life easier, editing your works and sending you deadlines. You push yourself as efficiently as possible, trying to make a story as beautifully creative as possible while still storming through your own life. It's hard, but for people that love what they do, it's most definately worth it. I've learned a great deal of things in just a few months. I'm already a much better writer than I was when I started this post. And I appreciate each one of the readers with every flip of a page and every breath that catches in their throats. I think in the end it's the heart that matters, the heart that you put into your stories, characters and messages. Sure, it may be hard scrounging up whatever money I can manage to pay someone to edit my book, but it's that sweet satisfaction when someone enjoys it that makes me know I've picked the right profession. Each book will be worlds better than the last, and I'm honored my fans and readers will share this journey with me.
I'm just having too much fun to keep it to myself.
Sincerely,
A.L.
