Five Things on a Friday

1. I hope all my American friends had a nice Fourth of July. We had a family cookout, which was fun and delicious.
2. I love the Audubon Society's puffin webcam from Seal Island, Maine. In the middle of the day, the puffins are off fishing so the ledge is often empty, but in the morning and evening I love watching the puffins, gulls, terns, and auks.
3. The weather in Maine has been glorious this week! This coming week looks good, too. My picture book editor is coming here on vacation next week, and I'll have the chance to meet her. Also, I'll get to see my critique group and my friend, Holly from Texas, And my daughter has her orientation for graduate school at Simmons in Boston. This is why summer goes by so fast! :-)
4. Julia and I put together the compost bin that came in the mail. You know you're getting old when you ask for a compost bin for your birthday! And are really excited to get it!
5. Tomorrow I have a library visit at the Bridgton Public Library right on Main Street in Bridgton, Maine. It's from 1:00-2:00, and open to the public. That morning is also the library's annual booksale, so it'll be a fun book day in Bridgton!
