First Reviews
Happy 4th of July everyone.
In between barbecues and beers, I checked the product page for my debut satire (which I don’t do often) and noticed two reviews, one of which is from a top Amazon reviewer (#365 to be exact). Both reviews are four stars. I want to reiterate that my goal is to reach 50 independent reviews by October or November. So, if anyone on Tumblr, Goodreads, or Amazon would be interested in a complementary copy, or knows someone who would be interested in a fictional satire, please let me know. My email address is raedenzen@gmail.com. (I will be posting these reviews, from time to time, on Tumblr, which is linked to Goodreads. But, don’t worry, you’ll still get your steady stream of snarky comments, politically incorrect jokes, cars, girls, food, instagrams, and of course, cats doing funny shit.)
Without further adieu, my first reviews:
High finance, big football, and college druggies July 4, 2012
By Bruce Trinque TOP 500 REVIEWERVINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
“Flexon Vale” is a satire of the contemporary era, set mostly in the near future (with flashbacks to the 1990s), as told by the title character (well, that is more or less his name, although you will have to read the novel to understand that the name is somewhat elusive).
The primary target of the satire is the world of financial high-wire acts, with vast profits made up of smoke and mirrors and insider trading, along with a big dollop of big-time college football (hint: think “Penn State”).
I think the book works best when it sticks to the near-future world of finance and football; the flashback scenes of Vale’s college years swimming in booze, drugs, and sex struck me as perhaps a bit self-indulgent.

A peek in the world of elite universities , big money and the superficial and amoral life of a certain kind of success.
The last words of the book, will certainly stay with me for quite a while.
