Friday Five

TGIF! I hope everyone is ready to share five random things about our week. Here’s mine:

Wizard has plans to go RC car racing with Turbo on Saturday. Guys I don’t know which of them is more excited, but right now, my money is on Wizard. He’s talked about it nonstop. He called Turbo’s mom last night to arrange details. Now he’s fretting that it might be too windy. (I hope it’s not too windy, they’d both be so disappointed). I love that Wizard and Turbo are racing buddies when time allows. And I love how excited Wizard is about it! With so much going on in the world around us, I think it’s important to find and recognize real joy in our personal lives.I took Maggie to the Vet Tech for a routine visit. She was a good girl, and her weight is exactly where I want it. Her vet and I look for holding steady within a pound or so. She’s been doing good overall this week. We have accepted that she’s older and developed some opinions and quirks. Frankly, I can say the same for Wizard and myself, LOL!I don’t get many injuries from my exercise routines. But I have something going on with my right leg and foot. I’m not sure if it’s one issue or two separate things. I won’t bore you all with details, it’s just a thing that comes and goes and is pretty mild. What I’m annoyed about is that I should rest it for a while. But see, I had this plan — I’d work out hard until my potential deviated septum surgery, and then rest. And so far, I haven’t been letting some mild pain deter my plan. To no one’s surprise, the discomfort is more annoying today. I may have to <and I’m shuddering saying this because I’m a stubborn idiot> change the plan.I made sourdough this week. And I learned why I like keeping two starters in my fridge. I pulled the first one out and it’d gone bad. I realized that I’d accidently stored it in my jar with an ill fitting lid…and the top layer was a purple black. That’s dangerous. But no problem, I had a good backup starter and made the bread. Right now I only have one starter, but next time I make it, I’ll do two feedings before using it, and that will give me and extra starter.I already mentioned Wizard will hopefully be racing with Turbo. I have Special K’s baby shower to go to, and I’m looking forward to it. The gift I have for her is awkward-sized, but after searching, I found and bought a gift bag specifically to fit it. All good…then I put the gift in the bag and it tore on a bottom seam. Grrr! I was not going back to the store — so I fixed it with clear packing tape, and then reinforced the other seams with the tape. It’s annoying to search and find the right bag, pay for it, and then have to fix it! Fortunately, if Special K notices, she won’t care.

That’s my five now I’d love to hear yours! I hope everyone has a terrific weekend!
