Write In Layers

From painting to composing music, artists create in layers. Authors too create in layers. The first skeletal draft consists primarily of the premise and the authors goal is to get it on paper. Afterwards, the author adds layers and depth to the story. Those layers include character development, suspense, tension, physical settings, the senses and emotions, and more. So, pick up the creative paintbrush in your mind and start writing in layers.
