What are you currently working on?

People love asking writers, “So what are you working on now?”
And I kinda hate this question.

Not because I’m offended, but because I’m a prolific creator with way too many irons in the fire, a forge full of sparks, and ADHD that makes me juggle story ideas like a caffeinated wizard who forgot which spell he was casting.

BUT—I do have two projects I will tell you about.

A New Way to Know: This is my historical “I promise it’s educational…but actually fun” novel.

This one follows a young Francis Bacon—yes, that Francis Bacon, long before he became the father of the scientific method. The story opens with him as a curious kid in the court of Queen Elizabeth I, which is basically the worst possible place to ask “Why?” every three minutes.

He wanders through a world of silk sleeves, secretive courtiers, and adults who desperately wish he would stop noticing things. But Francis can’t stop, he sees the world like a living experiment. A palace hallway isn’t just a hallway; it’s airflow, reflections, footstep acoustics, human behavior, and ten different mysteries that need solving.

This book blends historical fiction with the kind of wonder kids actually feel, messy, inconvenient, unstoppable curiosity. Francis grows through grief, political danger, questionable mentorships, and experiments that absolutely should have set something on fire but miraculously didn’t.

It’s a story about learning to question everything, especially the things everyone else accepts without thought.

If you ever wanted to watch a genius form in real time… this one’s for you.

Magnus and the Last Dragon
This one is pure fun with heart, danger, and a world just beneath our own.

Magnus is a teen who has always felt out of place, and for the first time in his life, he discovers there might be a reason for that. He sees something no one else can, which pulls him into a hidden world filled with magical creatures, ancient secrets, and a dangerous organization determined to control it all.

Magnus and his best friend Gwen get swept into a journey that’s part mystery, part survival, part “wait, was that really a giant?” Together they encounter strange allies, strange enemies, and a truth about Magnus that changes everything.

At its core, this book is about identity, belonging, courage, and the fierce loyalty of two teens who refuse to let the world decide who they’re allowed to be.

And yes — there may be dragons involved.
