Screenwriting Workshop
Local young adult paranormal author, JUDITH GRAVES (2012 Alberta Screenwriters Initiative Winner) shares her experiences writing scripts for network television and offers tips on the craft of screenwriting. Graves will delve into the benefits of collaboration, including the power of Google Docs and screenwriting programs such as Scrivener, as well how to plot a script using her outline structure, The Bones of the Story. From gripping logline to epic showdown, she’ll provide you with the foundation you’ll need to create your own dreadfully cool scripts. Please call to register 780-639-3963

Fiction to Die For
Local young adult paranormal author, JUDITH GRAVES, shows you what makes fiction to DIE for, how to develop characters that ROCK, and how to REVAMP your work, aka revision with BITE! Be prepared for writerly battle as she introduces you to the beasties known as storyboarding and character cards. Once tamed these tools can help with plot structure and character development. Those in attendance should be prepared for writing activities and bring any supplies (pen, notebook) that they may require. For ages 12-18. Please call 780-639-3963 to register

Lots-A-Books / Cold Lake Writing Club
Our local indie bookstore wants to help establish a community for writers in the Cold Lake area. Please join me and Ben, from Lots-A-Books, in this initial gathering. Bring a short sample of your work to read / share and let’s come up with a plan to kick off a thriving, welcoming, productive Writing Club!
