The Book of Job
For months I have been soaking myself in the book of Job. It really is an amazing book. The poor man’s servants were murdered, his possessions were stolen, all of his children were killed, and his health was removed. Job lost everything but his faith in God and a stubborn desire to have a personal audience with the Almighty. He wanted to ask God why such suffering had come his way. He wanted to talk face-to-face with his Creator.
When he finally got that personal audience, God didn't answer even one of Job's questions. Instead, He had 70 of His own. He wanted answers, and God gave him questions. But Job wasn’t disappointed. Neither will we be disappointed if we take the time to study them. Within these 70 questions from the mouth of Almighty God are hidden amazing scientific truths that were not discovered by this world until more than three thousand years later. The Book of Job is filled with comfort, remarkable knowledge, and wisdom of which the world knows nothing---precious gems that bring with them the most profound of implications.
So over the next few months, starting Monday, we will look closely at Job, and it’s my hope that its wonderful truths bless and minister to you, as they have to me.
