The Enigma Key update & I need your help

First, a book update. The Enigma Key (SPI Files #9) is going GREAT! In the past two weeks, I’ve “roughed in” the first 17 chapters. Not bad, not bad at all. I’m really pushing to have this out by late spring. Then I’ll be writing a NEW RAINE BENARES book. I promise! When I start it next summer, it will have been NINE YEARS since I’ve written in Raine’s world. It’s way past time. I’m psyched about going back and rereading the entire series and taking copious notes, though I think I already have the basic plot for this next one.

Next is a cause near and dear to my heart — The Fourth Annual Franklin All-Nighter for Mental Health in Chapel Hill, NC. It’s an all night walk/run to raise awareness and eliminate the stigma associated with seeking mental health treatment. Health is health, whether physical or mental, both should be talked about the same way, without shame.

The All-Nighter is what it says. Participants walk or run all night, from sundown on Saturday, November 1 until sunrise Sunday, November 2. All donations benefit student mental health services on campus as well as meeting the mental health needs of Orange County’s homeless community.

This year my husband, Derek, will be walking with me, as well as Ruby, our retired racing greyhound. Yes, that’s the precious girl in the photo! I figured since she’s a retired racer, she should have her own race number. I’ll be sure to post pics of the cutie the night of the race on all my social media accounts (FacebookThreadsBluesky, and Instagram). Some of you may know her as “Ruby” from The Gorgon Agenda where she was SPI’s hellhound mascot. Her “out in public” disguise/glamour was a greyhound.

If any of you would like to make a donation in my name, here’s the link. Even a couple of dollars would be welcome, but don’t feel like you have to. I know how tight money is for all of us right now. Or if you’d like to support Derek (for supporting and putting up with me all these years), here’s the link to his donation page. Or if you’d like to donate to Ruby, here’s her link.

AND if any of you live close to Chapel Hill, we’d love to have you register and join usUse this link for more information and to sign up. You could walk a couple of laps with me, and we can talk about books! If you do register, please send me an email so I know you’re gonna be there. On Sunday morning, all participants are treated to an incredible breakfast. That right there is worth staying up all night! I’d do it just for the biscuits and gravy.

Love you all!
Lisa
