DID YOU KNOW?? The “Engine 51” in the TV show Emergency! was filmed at a real Los Angeles County Fire Station in Carson, California… which was Station 127. Today, the station is named the Robert A. Cinader Memorial Fire Station after the show’s producer and still operates today. The actual vehicles, Squad 51 and Engine 51, are now preserved and can be seen at the Los Angeles County Fire Museum. The station was chosen for its south-facing orientation, which was good for natural light. The show used different engines to represent Engine 51 throughout its run. The first was a 1965 Crown Firecoach, but later a 1973 closed-cab Ward LaFrance was used.
