17 – Overcoming Victory

Force for Overcoming\n

The power of upgrade moves you from the cheap seats to box seats in a given area of your life. This is in direct proportion to your willingness to move forward. The key to upgrade is when God grants you a breakthrough, you must be prepared to go to the next level again and again and again without stopping. The Kingdom is not for people who fear change and pine for the good old days. The Kingdom of God is transformational, and so are the people who go through it with momentum.\n

\u201cAnd from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.\u201d Matthew 11:12\n

If you\u2019re not sure what Jesus was saying in this text, maybe this newer translation will help you sink your teeth into it: \u201cFrom the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.\u201d Matthew 11:12\n

Be forceful! Go after that thing you want for the Kingdom.\n

Do you want to start a new ministry? Take that first step. Are you hoping to adopt a child or start an orphanage? Go for it! Are you looking to start a new business venture to make money to give to missions? Jump right in! Have a heart for the homeless? Follow that vision! Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. \u2013 Romans 8:6\n

The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:\n

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, \u201cA terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt.\"\n

The old man continued: \u201cThe other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.\u201d He then told the boy, \u201cThis same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.\u201d\n

The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, \u201cWhich wolf will win?\u201d The wise old chief replied, \u201cThe one you feed.\u201d\n

What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.\n

I am an intentional follower of Jesus who is forcefully taking new territory for His Kingdom. I am not a wimp who shrinks back. When He prompts my heart, I go to work on what He tells me He wants me to do. Life is exciting in the Kingdom!
