There needs to be more action. The problem is, all of these people are too powerful to assassinate, except at each others’ hands. Must ponder.

The rest of the meeting was as dull as it could be while losing a war. Wildfire was an improvement on the previous idiot on the Throne, but Morrigan didn’t want an improvement. She wanted somebody who would fight.
It made dealing with Goreheart particularly annoying, because he had a much loftier opinion of his strategic abilities than Morrigan did. Irritatingly, that meant he legitimately thought he could talk to her as a rough equal, as well as her superior. “I understand you need more assets, Morrigan,” he told her after the meeting broke up. “But the southern front needs them more.”
“What we need is to get more use out of the assets we have,” Morrigan told him, “Heir to the Dominion. Hostages aren’t enough to keep the Circles on the front lines steady. They have to fight to the death anyway, so why bother threatening them with it?”
