Promoting a book while broke part 2 and some book marketing emails and My Answers to Them!
Marketing a book with social media is not easy especially when you don’t have money to toss at ads or for Canva pro which I plan on resubscribing next paycheck I finally have help with affording the bills and help with paying down debt as my boyfriend is working again. A story I plan on doing all on it’s own as I’ve been living paycheck to paycheck for the past 10 months. Life has been hard and depressing and budgeting sucks with everything going to bills all that is going to change. I’ve been promoting my books on X, Facebook and in groups, Tiktok, Bluesky, Threads everywhere I can for free but it does come with challenges. The first being these stupid book marketing scammers and fake authors like people who actually fake being a best seller in order to take the authors money. I can do a whole post at this point and video after video reading their conversations. I screenshot them so I can use them for content. I’ve been making it a fun hobby and there is a ton of scammers out there trying to get indie authors to part with their cash. I don’t know why they chose indies some of us are broke imagine telling a book marketer you have 3 dollars, 2 or even a dollar they literally don’t understand what broke means. Like one even suggested 50 was low budget yeah right that is expensive and even told one it is grocery money. One stupid book marketing scammer wanted me to pay 105 for 10-15 reviews. Excuse me? Reviews are free and it is illegal to pay for them I get them free and I’m not paying for someone to have an opinion on my books. It’s disgusting asking authors to pay for people to review their books. This is the same person who wouldn’t take no for an answer and I called her a scammer and the dipshit adds me on my personal facebook page and even sends me an email because she was hurt I called her a scammer. FYI her X accout is suspended haha. She wanted to help me with a free kindle thumbnail like no it is called a cover and I have them already.
These book marketers are even going as far as leaving reviews on Goodreads reviews like this:

They are insuferable the second dude thinks reading an excerpt and not buying the book counts as him being a reader since he likes to read for free yet he wanted me to pay for his book marketing services tell me how does that work? Omg. Hell one dumbass who called herself a book marketer commented on a post that said free with kindle unlimited and then said I clicked on the book and it is asking me to pay. Well, no shit it isn’t free period it is only free with a kindle unlimited subscription. These people just want authors to pay for their services yet don’t think authors should be paid for their books. Then again they are scammers and if they were really book marketers they wouldn’t be contacting authors. Authors contact them if they were real. I’ve also caught them using AI to talk to me and I’ve noticed some are using photos you can find on google. I can make a tutorial on how to trace images if people want me to.
Once I reknew Canva pro I’ll be posting a video on all the ways I use it as an author. Hell, the latest scam is a book club scam they want to review the book the catch is some say it is free and as a token tip the reader 15-20 for their time. Like no that is still paying for reviews if they need money that bad maybe they should get a real job and stop expecting authors to pay for it. I’ve even had an author friend of mine post looking for arc readers and one tried to ask for light snacks like popcorn or trail mix for readers to enjoy and keep them going like come on people stop trying to drain what little money we have from us.

I’m starting to feel normal again now that everything is getting better. It means more envergy for Mia’s Gift edits where I’m combining that and parts of AngelWitch Retribution.
