I have a bunch of half-finished Fermi Resolution stories to work on… and when they’re done, I will have a new TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION anthology to crowdfund! That’s like getting paid twice. Getting paid twice is awesome.

Liza was pleased to discover that she was wrong. Running them all of them ragged, then right into the ground the next day did work on Marcus, too. It was almost embarrassing, until she remembered that not every orc was up to Legion standards. If they had been, the Legion just would have raised the standards. You had to train hard, if you wanted to get the hard jobs.
She did take it easy on the two humans (Cabot actually kept up better than Marcus did), but not by much. This wasn’t legionary training, where you started out by screaming the stupid out of the new recruits. Everybody in the group was a combat veteran, and the ones who weren’t soldiers had still been trained in a very hard, unforgiving school. They just needed a shove or two in the rear to get their heads in gear.
And if there’s one thing that orcs were good at, it was shoving things.
