Her bestie, Natalie, saw her and held the door for her. Thanking her, Sarah slipped into the elevator and pressed the button for the fifth floor. She didn’t have to, but it was a habit.

She and Natalie worked on the same floor and their cubicles were side by side. It was how they met and became best friends.

They started the same day and helped each other figure out the nuances.

“Did something happen?” Sarah asked, trying to keep her voice low as there were three others on the elevator. It was a wasted effort given the tight space.
