A Rousing New Collaboration with Constructed Chaos – The Chaos Mage Scent

Ho! Greetings, friend! Wondering about tonight’s celebration? Well, tonight’s party is a little different than normal. You could say that it would have been entirely too chaotic to have a tavern full of the realm’s representatives of the Chaos Mage class. So, instead we invited just one, Alexander Breaux, a member of the fearless gamer group called Constructed Chaos. Who is Alexander Breaux? What is Constructed Chaos? How do they represent the Chaos Mage class at Tabletop Beard? Well, sit down, have a drink, and let’s start!

Please allow us to introduce Alexander Breaux and the amazing @constructedchaos!

Balbo: Welcome to the Dragon’s Beard, Alexander. How are you?

Alexander: Great! Thanks for having me, Balbo!

Balbo: Could you please define Constructed Chaos for us.

Alex: Constructed Chaos began as a TTRPG Terrain-building YouTube channel at first, believe it or not. But, as time has gone on, it’s taken on a new meaning for me and our community. Constructed Chaos is all about embracing the unpredictability that comes with creativity and storytelling as a part of TTRPGs. We love embracing crowd participation in major ways through our actual play live streams—where our chat is often “constructs chaos!”

Balbo: Truly fascinating, my friend. We love a good terrain! So, tell us, what role do you play at Constructed Chaos?

Alex: I wear a lot of hats, truly. I’m the DM (dungeon master), producer, cinematographer, developer, production designer, 3D artist, painter, and more haha. I suppose this unbridled approach to creation is also a part of the channel’s namesake.

Balbo: When CC was forming, what was your best idea, and did it come to fruition?

Alex: As I mentioned, my original plan was for the channel to focus on crafting terrain for TTRPGs. But I quickly expanded into running live streamed games that made use of my filmmaking background. So, it panned out. But, not in the way I thought it would!

Balbo: Who are the main people involved in CC?

Alex: For the most part, I run the channel with the help of my wife, Morgan. But my players often take turns DMing for different side campaigns, so I get to play sometimes too! Huge shoutout to my friend, Brett and my brother, Sam, on that front!

Balbo: How often do you play RPG games? And what kinds? Pen and Paper, Video Game, etc.

Alex: I don’t play video games very often anymore—there just isn’t enough time in a day. But, when I do, I play RPGs almost exclusively. I’m not even ashamed to admit that I often set games to the lowest difficulty just so I can experience the story without too much stress haha. Outside of that, I’m almost always playing board games or tabletop RPGs like DND, Draw Steel, Daggerheart, etc.

Balbo: So those are your favorite paper games, Alex?

Alex: Admittedly, most of my experience is with DND (since that tends to attract the most viewers). But I have been a HUGE fan of Draw Steel since the day I got my hands on the PDF.

Balbo: Did you enjoy RPG video games in the past, before life became too…chaotic?

Alex: Oh, yes! I’ve been a big fan of the Elder Scrolls series since Morrowind in particular. I’ve played a little bit of Baldur’s Gate 3 as well. But, again, my time is more often spent on writing for our own TTRPG sessions and implementing new features for our viewers to interact with!

Balbo: Many of the people who come to the Dragon’s Beard enjoy all sorts of games. What is your favorite board game?

Alex: Now this is a tough one. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Eschaton—a fun deck-building game about creating a cult at the end of the world. But, my all-time favorite would probably still be Wyrmspan!

Balbo: We have to ask this, since beards are an important mainstay of this realm. How long have you had that excellent beard, Alex?

Alex: I’ve had a beard for ages. But I haven’t been clean shaven since 2013. So about 12 years there about!

Balbo: Many of my friends are readers. What was the first fantasy novel you read?

Alex: I was practically raised on the Harry Potter series, and I enjoyed that when I was a kid. Honestly, it’s not my cup of tea nowadays but it wasn’t long before I was diving headfirst into classics like Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit!

Balbo: What was the first RPG book you read?

Alex: That’d be the 2014 DND 5e Player’s Handbook. For some weird reason, it took me forever to get into the hobby. The second I started playing, I was left wondering why I hadn’t before.

Balbo: Since you are here, sitting in my tavern, what do you think is the best beverage to drink while gaming? Be specific. Maybe we can make you one.

Alex: Haha I’m not much of an alcohol person and I’ve actually got a pretty intense coffee allergy, so I’m a big fan of a soothing tea with honey in it—hot or iced!

Many Thanks to Alex and his Chaos Mages at Constructed Chaos

Unpredictable arcane magic with erratic random effects and wild behavior? Who would want to wield such a thing? A Chaos Mage (and our new scent by the same name) is for adventurers like Alexander Breaux, who embrace risk, thrive in unpredictability, and find beauty in the arcane unknown.

We at Tabletop Beard are proud to collaborate with the exciting Constructed Chaos team.  Chaos Mage is the scent of unpredictability, raw power, and the peril of tampering with forces beyond control.

The first spark is the sharp, invigorating bite of juniper, crackling through the air like unstable arcane energy. It mingles with the smoky haze of embers, reminiscent of a campfire glowing after a misfired spell. Beneath it all, the grounding scent of pine forest lingers, steady yet subdued, like the silence that follows chaos.

This is a fragrance that teeters between order and ruin, with bright notes clashing against charred undertones, leaving an aroma that feels as if a spell has backfired in the wilds.

We hope you enjoy this new scent for our premium beard care products!
