Drug-resistant ‘superbugs’ see alarming rise in U.S.

Infections tied to the NDM gene have grown more than fivefold since 2019, leaving only two expensive drugs as treatment options.

A new study from scientists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that a dangerous strain of what some researchers have nicknamed a “superbug” is on the rise.
