Fall of Saigon

On April 30, 1975 North Vietnamese forces captured the South Vietnamese capitol Saigon as part of its spring offensive. The fall of Saigon led to the collapse of the South Vietnamese government and the evacuation of thousands of civilians and U.S. personnel.
