Stillness Between Seasons

I’m stepping away from bloggyland for a few days…

            not to venture outward to foreign lands,
            but to draw myself in,
            to tend to my inner flame,

            to focus on the final details of a book project before the story is set free,
                        including paying reverence to all that this writing journey has revealed to me

            to celebrate the end of one season and prepare for the next,
            to show up fully for those I have the honor of working with,

            and to give my mind some space to notice subtle shifts—
            like how the trunk of the tree outside my window
            is supporting bright green life,
                        while the leaves above are preparing to fly
