Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? John 14:9 NLT
Transforming Goodness
I think a lot of God’s goodness skips off us the way a meteor deflects off our atmosphere. We go on to the next thing without any kind of dedication to contemplation or meditation. It’s business as usual.

Instead of thinking God thoughts, we worry and swat at anxiety with all our mental muscle. Worry, however, is a trap. Worry is about the future. As God is eternal, He is already in the future, so there’s no need to worry. It just becomes another distraction from the goodness that passes before us throughout our day.

In my experience, the gravity pull of our broken hearts will bring God’s goodness screaming into our day, lighting up our sky and illuminating the darkness we find ourselves in. When that happens, the impact is thunderous and completely alters the geography of our lives.

This is called transformation, and transformation begins with goodness. If we want to move to higher levels of encounter with Jesus, we must learn to recognize God’s goodness, no matter how small or brief, throughout our day.

Be a magnet for good! Look for it. Demonstrate it. Sing of it and pass it along!

“I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, And my spirit makes diligent search.” Psalm 77:6

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt."

The old man continued: “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” He then told the boy, “This same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The wise old chief replied, “The one you feed.”

What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.

That’s not you! You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">Transforming Goodness

Grounded in FaithDeclare!I lift up my hands to Heaven and worship Him. With the breath He put in my lungs, I speak of His goodness and the wonders I have seen manifested in my life. It is a great joy to be a witness to others. He has blessed me, so I will be a blessing to others.
